My Story

I have a very long story but I will cut out the minor details to shorten it for you. My story started in 2023 when I decided I wanted my own pet. I was ten years old. My sister owned her beloved chickens that we both adored and my parents owned our loyal dog. I loved our chickens but they weren't my own, so one day I told my mom I wanted either a cat or a rabbit. She grew up with cats and informed me rabbits would probably be more snugly than cats, so I set my heart on rabbits. The agreement was they couldn't be stinky, they had to live outside, I had to know everything about rabbits before I bought a rabbit, I had to have the hutch built and all the supplies before I started to even look for a rabbit, I had to pay for everything, and I had to care for the rabbit. I agreed to these regulations and set to work saving up my birthday and Christmas money along with working for my family to raise money. 

By 2024 I had saved up $600. We built the grow-out hutch with the plans from Tealstone Homestead, and bought all the accessories.  The Internet informed me, I needed to have two rabbits because they would get lonely. Also I have to neuter/spay any rabbit. The search for rabbits began. I bought two meat rabbits for $5 a piece. I got what I paid for. They ended up being mean so I gave them back to the breeder. My neighbor told us that her friend just had an ‘oops litter’ of two baby bunnies. I was all in. I met the babies in July 2024 and I definitely wanted one. August 26th, 2024 I brought home my baby bunny. They said it was a girl but later we found out he was a boy, but his name is Willow. Willow was one month old when I brought him home. He turned into my bunny ambassador. He was the sweetest bunny ever. He lathers your face in kisses, snuggles for hours, runs to greet you every time you open his hutch, and loves attention. 

I joined 4-h and now he goes to nursing homes and libraries to teach people about bunnies. I wanted to pass these amazing animals along to other people and that is how WillowBlossom Rabbits was born. I have bought females to breed and am always working on improving my rabbits, their lives, and many other things.
